IL Volo

With live performances that receive warm applause and rave reviews from the press around the world, IL VOLO, formed by young Italian tenors Piero Barone (19), Gianluca Ginoble (18) and Ignazio Boschetto (18), impresses with their vocals.

In 2009, Piero, Ignazio and Gianluca appeared on the Italian talent show “Ti Lascio Una Canzone”, dazzling viewers. The name chosen for the trio, IL VOLO (The Flight), represents the feeling of the three young tenors, about to spread their wings and fly. The first album, “Il Volo” (2011), in just three months was certified Platinum in Italy and was one of the best-selling albums on the internet. The CD debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Top 200 and has sold more than 1 million copies around the world. The CD opened the doors to the sold-out tour of Europe and the United States.

During the season, they recorded the special “Il Volo Takes Flight - Live From Detroit Opera House” for the PBS channel, released on CD and DVD. Their second studio album “We Are Love” was released at the end of 2012, at the same time that the trio finished their North American tour and starred as a guest artist on singer Barbra Streisand's tour.
