PIAF 2015

Celebrate the centennial anniversary of the song diva with a remarkable show! Inspired by the award-winning film La Môme and a global success, PIAF! The Show tells the incredible life story and career of the unforgettable music diva Edith Piaf through all of her hit songs, performed by the incredible voice of Anne Carrere.

The show is composed of two 45-minute acts. The audience is taken on a journey through the streets of Montmartre and Olympia Hall, set in 1950s Paris, with the best "La Vie en Rose" atmosphere (the diva's greatest hit). Unseen photos and images of Edith Piaf, as well as English translations of the song lyrics telling Edith’s stories, will be shared through an innovative audiovisual experience. The show is part of the official celebration of the 100th anniversary of Edith Piaf's birth, which will take place in December 2015 in Paris.

ANNE CARRERE: THE SPIRIT OF PIAF!

Anne Carrere is the eldest of five children. Born on August 15, 1985, in Toulon (located in southern France), she is a young artist with an impressive resume. Anne studied a wide variety of dance genres, including classical, jazz, and breakdance. She later continued her studies in music theory, flute, and piano. At the age of 12, she began taking voice lessons with Daniel Bastian and theater training with Didier Biosca. Sensitive, energetic, and determined, she maintained a strict schedule of artistic training and competitions while continuing her studies. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in literature, she joined her first band and became well-known in the show business world. Anne constantly writes, creates, and innovates. She is truly a complete artist who invents and reinvents her art in a unique and rich way with each performance. During the tour, Anne Carrere will be accompanied by four musicians (piano, accordion, drums/xylophone, and double bass).

GERMAINE RICORD, A FRIEND OF EDITH PIAF, MEETS ANNE CARRERE

A devoted fan of classic French songs, Anne participated in the 2014 casting call for the show “Paris! The Show.” Fascinated by her vocal power and natural charisma, Gil Marsalla, the producer and director of the show, immediately offered her the role of Edith Piaf in “Piaf! The Show.” Around the same time, Anne met Germaine Ricord, a friend and confidante of Edith Piaf, who toured with the diva for three years as a backup singer. Germaine also fell in love with Anne’s incredible voice and remarked how much this young artist reminded her of her late, dear friend.
