Actors Alírio Netto and Lívia Dabarian presented on SBT's “The Noite com Danilo Gentili” program, excerpts from the Queen musical, Freddie Mercury Revisited, which returns to the stage next Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 8:30 pm , at Theatro Municipal, in Rio de Janeiro and on October 14th, at 9 pm, at Teatro Bradesco, in São Paulo.
The Rio de Janeiro show, in particular, is in honor of Freddie Mercury, who would have turned 71 on September 5th and is the inspiration for this project. Freddie Mercury was a singer who became unique and extraordinary in every aspect. As the lead singer of Queen or in his solo career, hits have accumulated throughout his career. Mercury died at the age of 45, on November 25, 1991, a victim of complications from AIDS.
One of his biggest fans, singer Alírio Netto, took on the challenge of, together with his partner, singer Livia Dabarian, defining the best repertoire and putting together the show Freddie Mercury Revisited, with reinterpretations in intimate versions for voice and piano of the songs great moments in Freddie Mercury's career. “I fell in love with Queen when I was 9 years old and watched the videos of the band's performance at Rock in Rio. Seeing that amount of people singing Love Of My Life with Freddie Mercury moved me in a way, that at that time I knew exactly what what he would be like when he grew up”, said vocalist Alírio Netto.
The show had its “debut” at the Triad Theater, in New York, on December 20, 2016 and will debut in Brazil on May 13, 2017, in two only performances: one at the Theatro Municipal do Ro de Janeiro and another at Teatro Bradesco, in São Paulo. Songs such as Who Wants to Live Forever, We Are the Champions, Under Pressure, Somebody to Love, Love of My Life and much more are part of the show that will move the Brazilian public.
