In an exclusive interview with CONTIGO!, the music producer, responsible for Donna Summer’s success and producer of numerous global hits, said he is excited to perform for the Brazilian audience. "Maybe the best audience I’ve ever played for!"
If we were to list all the artists that Giorgio Moroder has worked with, your jaw would probably drop in two seconds. To start with, he was the one who turned Donna Summer into the queen of disco, collaborated heavily with Daft Punk on the album Random Access Memories in 2013, and has worked with singers such as David Bowie, Britney Spears, Freddie Mercury, Bonnie Tyler, Jon Anderson, Cher, who all had songs or albums produced by him. And in June, Giorgio will bring all this repertoire to Brazil, with a single performance in São Paulo. "I'm excited to come because it’s been two years since I last played there. I have great memories of my stays there, and I think the Brazilian crowd will dance a lot. I promise to make it an unforgettable live show. Brazilians are, perhaps, the best audience I’ve ever played for. If not, at least they are the most energetic!" reveals Moroder, who is now 77 years old. In addition to his three Oscars, he has four Grammy Awards on his shelf – the same number as Golden Globes – and his influence on music has been monumental. "It’s been years of journeying, trying to innovate as much as possible. However, I still dream of writing, composing, and producing my own musical, the problem is that I'm getting old, and that kind of project requires a lot of energy. But, since I’m restless with music, I think I still have a chance to make it happen (laughs)!"
The most successful duet in romantic music, Air Supply is back in Brazil in October.
