ANGELA AT WILL WITH VOICE AND GUITAR

Angela Maria, one of the greatest legends of Brazilian music, remains vibrant and fully active. She is currently presenting shows across Brazil to launch her new CD "Angela à Vontade em Voz e Violão," accompanied by the great guitarist Ronaldo Rayol.

The repertoire includes classics that have never been re-recorded by her, such as "Nunca" (Lupicínio Rodrigues), "Retalhos de cetim" (Benito di Paula), "Só louco" (Dorival Caymmi), and "Manhã de carnaval" (Luiz Bonfá and Antônio Maria), as well as her greatest hits: "Gente Humilde," "Vida de Bailarina," "Tango Pra Tereza," "Lábios de Mel," "Falhaste Coração," "Babalú," and more.

Angela also features songs by Cartola ("As Rosas Não Falam"), Caetano Veloso ("Esse Cara"), Roberto and Erasmo ("O Portão"), among others, and takes requests from the audience, who often ask for songs not on the setlist, creating surprise moments during the show.

In her 64 years of uninterrupted career, the singer is performing for the first time in an acoustic format, with just voice and guitar. "The experience has been fantastic. I've sung even with symphonic orchestras, but I feel very comfortable in this show because I do it in a very spontaneous way; I chat with the audience, tell stories, sing what I like, and what people want to hear," she says.

Last year, the singer released the award-winning album "Reencontro" with her stage partner Cauby Peixoto, and together they performed a show that toured 10 capitals in Brazil. Recently, she also released the DVD with the musical documentary "Angela Maria - Estrela da Canção Popular," produced by Canal Brasil. In it, the singer shares significant stories from her career and performs her greatest hits alongside footage from a show held last May at Teatro Fecap in São Paulo, as well as archival images from TV Cultura, TV Globo, and films from the 1950s.
