Il Divo in Brazil with big hits and new features

After seven years, the international vocal quartet Il Divo will return to Brazil at one of the best moments of their acclaimed career. With over 30 million albums sold and 160 gold and platinum records achieved in 33 countries.

In their repertoire, the guys will showcase numerous hits they have recorded over their 12 years together, including “Regresa a Mi” and “To All the Girls I Have Loved Before.” Expect spine-tingling vocal combinations and that romantic flair that has made this group one of the most popular of this century.

The performances will also serve to launch their new album in Brazil, “Amor & Pasion,” which features reinterpretations of songs from Spain, Cuba, Argentina, and Mexico, infused with plenty of sensuality.

Founded in 2003 by the renowned British producer Simon Cowell, known for his work on musical reality shows like American Idol, Britain’s Got Talent, and The X Factor, Il Divo reinterprets classics of popular music from an operatic perspective, inspired by the Three Tenors and Andrea Bocelli, creating a style with great popular appeal known as pop opera or classical crossover.

Il Divo consists of Spanish baritone Carlos Marin, American tenor David Muller, Swiss tenor Urs Buhler, and French pop singer Sebastian Izambard. They burst onto the global scene with their debut album, Il Divo (2004).

In 2005, they achieved the remarkable feat of reaching the top of the American charts with their second album, Ancora. Their credits include recording “I Believe In You” with Celine Dion and “Times Of Our Lives” with Toni Braxton, and they participated in a tour alongside diva Barbra Streisand in 20 shows.

They featured the song “Regresa a Mi” (a version of “Un-Break My Heart” by Toni Braxton) in the soundtrack of the popular telenovela América, and have recorded songs in English, Portuguese, Italian, French, Latin, and Japanese. However, the language most commonly used in their recordings is Spanish, which they consider “the language of romance.”
