IL VOLO, the most acclaimed and popular Italian trio, will be back in Brazil in March 2023 for the IL VOLO LIVE IN CONCERT tour.

Brazil, where the trio has a huge fan club made up of boys and girls between 10 and 90 years old, could not be left out of this tour.

The shows will take place on March 8th and 9th at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo, March 11th at Vivo Rio in Rio de Janeiro, March 12th at Sala Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, March 14th at Ulysses Convention Center Guimarães in Brasília, March 17th at the Araújo Viana Auditorium in Porto Alegre and March 18th at the Teatro Guaira in Curitiba.

The exclusive pre-sale for Gold members of Clube Shows and for members of the Il Volo Fan Club, for the Belo Horizonte show begins on February 20, 2023 at 11:00 am (Brazilian time).

The general sale starts on February 21, 2023 at 11:00 am (Brazilian Time).

In the repertoire of the shows, songs such as “Grande Amore”, “O Sole Mio”, “História de um Amor”, “Volare”, “Granada” and some opera arias such as “Nessun Dorma”, all in special arrangements accompanied in Brazil by the Villa Lobos Symphony Orchestra.

Biography

Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble debuted in 2009 as individual participants in the talent show “Ti lascio una canzone”, on the Italian television channel RAI 1, where they were seen by Michele Torpedine, the businessman who launched the careers of Andrea Bocelli, Zucchero, Giorgia and Biagio Antonacci and who then decided to work for them aiming for an international artistic career. Relying on their extraordinary vocal talents individually and as a trio, in an extremely short space of time, they became the first Italian artists in history to sign a contract with a major American record label, Geffen Records.

 The self-titled debut album, “Il Volo” (2010), went platinum and entered the US Billboard Top Ten. They have appeared on major European and American television programs, including The Tonight Show, American Idol, Good Morning America, the Today Show, Watten Das in Germany and Jerry Lewis's MDA Labor DAY Telethon, and were present alongside Unicef ??at the Venice Festival of Horn of Africa Children's Cinema.

The sale of over a million copies of their “Special Christmas Edition” (2010), along with their first international tour and the broadcast of the first of their television specials, which were repeated over a thousand times, turned them into global superstars. ! 

Also in 2010, they were the only Italian artists invited by Quincy Jones for “We Are The World for Haiti”, along with 80 international stars including Celine Dion, Bono, Lady Gaga, Carlos Santana, Barbra Streisand, Enrique Iglesias, Usher, Natalie Cole and Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas.

They were nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards for their releases and embarked on a memorable twelve-concert tour with Barbra Streisand in the United States and Canada (2012), which preceded the duets recorded on their second album “We Are Love” (2012) with Placido Domingo and Eros Ramazzotti, while the live album “Il Volo Takes Flight” and the album “Il Volo” ranked first and second on the Billboard Classical Crossover chart.

In 2013, advance tickets went on sale for their first show at Radio City Music Hall in New York, and sold 1600 tickets in just 8 hours (the show sold out within days). This event kicked off their tour of the USA, Canada, Central and South America, with 50 sold out shows, confirming Il Volo as the rising stars of operatic pop. “Buon Natale – The Christmas Album” was the third studio album to be released worldwide and contains some of the best-known Christmas classics. The trio participated in the great Christmas Concert at the Superior Basilica of Assisi, broadcast by RAI 1 on December 25th after the Pope's Holy Mass.

In 2014, they received the Latin Pop Albums Artist of the Year, Duo or Group award at the Latin Billboard Awards in Miami.

On December 21st, the three young artists had the privilege of performing at a benefit concert in the Senate Chamber of the Republic at Palazzo Madama, broadcast live on RAI 1, after Pope Francis' Angelus in St. Peter's Square.< br />
2015 saw them dominate the music scene. Il Volo won the 2015 Sanremo Festival with the song “Grande Amore” and SONY released its EP “Sanremo Grande Amore” which brought together famous songs from the Festival's history reinterpreted with a contemporary and international touch. After their triumph at Sanremo 2015, Il Volo's success was unstoppable: the group reached number one on iTunes with their EP, single and video (which racked up record views on the web) and went straight to the top of the FIMI/Gfk rankings best-selling albums and singles with "Sanremo Grande Amore" and "Grande Amore", respectively, the former double platinum and the latter platinum.

Il Volo represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 and the European television audience rewarded the group, giving them first place in the public telephone vote, also continuing to support them in the sales charts: the single “Grande Amore” and the album “Sanremo Grande Amore” actually went straight to number one in the Eurovision countries’ iTunes charts. The public's great affection for the group was also demonstrated by the number of audience members during the trio's performance in the final, with theirs being the most watched of the night. The public wasn't the only one to get excited about Il Volo. Music critics also expressed positive opinions, awarding the trio the prestigious 2015 Marcel Besançon Award, voted by the international press. At the same time, the group's fourth studio album, “Lamore si muove”, was released by SONY in 45 countries, reaching the top of the charts in a few days and allowing Il Volo to spend a long period on the Italian charts and international charts with three CD/DVD releases, while sales of his book “Unavventura straordinaria”, published by Rizzoli, continued to grow.

 The 2015 Italian tour took the trio's shows to the most prestigious venues, including Pompeii, where the extraordinary event was recorded by the American national television network PBS and broadcast in all states. The tour ended on September 21st at the Verona Arena and was broadcast live on RAI 1. It marked the beginning of an extremely long tour in the United States and South America and a European tour that sold out in the main capitals.

2016 and 2017 were years dedicated to the “Notte magica” project, a tribute to the 1990 TRÊS TENORES event starring José Carreras, Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti.

 Piazza Santa Croce, in Florence, was the extraordinary setting for the concert “Notte Magica – Tribute to the Three Tenors”, broadcast on Italian television on Canale 5, with the extraordinary participation of Placido Domingo, who has always been a true admirer of the group , participating as conductor. This concert marked the beginning of a triumphant world tour that in 2017, after 15 sold-out dates in the United States, the group performed around 25 dates in Italy with equal sales success, continuing later with a tour of Latin America and the world. In addition to being shown on prime time television on Canale 5, “Notte magica” was also filmed and broadcast in the United States on the national television network PBS, as well as in more than 500 cinemas in Italy and around the world. The worldwide release of the CD and DVD containing the live recording of the show went four times platinum in Italy. The numbers speak for themselves: few if any Italian artists have achieved the scale of global success achieved by Il Volo.

 In 2018, the group embarked on an international tour of Japan and Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia). They met with the peacekeeping forces in Lebanon at the UNIFIL bases and dedicated their Christmas concert to them at the SHAMA base and the Tire Theatre, broadcast on RAI 1 on 25 December with very high audience figures. His end-of-year tribute on the program “L’anno che verrà”, broadcast on RAI 1 on December 31st, received the same appreciation from the public.

On Saturday, January 26, 2019, the Italian trio performed in Panama on the occasion of the XXXIV World Youth Day, in front of Pope Francis and more than a million people, during the vigil ceremony, at Campo San Juan Pablo II. The event was broadcast worldwide

Also in 2019, Il Volo received the Gold Creator Award that YouTube grants to channels with more than 1 million subscribers.

2019 marked ten years on the market for Il Volo. The celebrations began at the 69th Sanremo Festival, where the trio took to the podium with the song “Musica che resto” (written, among others, by Gianna Nannini). Later, on February 22, the album “Music” (Sony Music), produced by Canova, was released and their tour of Europe, Japan and America began. On November 8, 2019, “10 Years” (Sony Music) was released worldwide, the best of Il Volo, including the Live in Matera DVD. The world tour that was supposed to follow the album was cut short after a few months due to the health emergency that forced Il Volo to return home early from the US in March 2020.

During the health emergency, Il Volo was joined by fans around the world with his music, appearing at the world's most important streaming events as guests, keeping an important sense of community alive and reminding them of the need to respect the rules of the emergency health throughout the country. The tour in Italy and abroad has been postponed until 2022.

The impossibility of performing live allowed Il Volo to focus intensely on their new project, working on Maestro Morricone's repertoire.
On November 1, 2020, the trio opened the “Emilia Romagna Formula 1 Emirates Grand Prix” by singing the Italian national anthem.

2021 began with Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble guests at the Sanremo Festival with an emotional performance in honor of Ennio Morricone.

 On June 5th, they performed for the first time on live television in prime time on RAI 1 from the Verona Arena with the big event “IL VOLO - Homage to ENNIO MORRICONE” accumulating a record audience with 4,702,000 spectators , equal to a 25.8% share. This was Il Volo's only show in Italy in 2021. The show was also broadcast in the fall on the main public broadcaster in the United States, PBS - Public Broadcasting Service.

The group joined Vittorio Storaro to participate in the 78th Venice International Film Festival.

October 2021 saw the release of their new single “Ecstasy of Gold” (from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly), accompanied for the first time by English lyrics written by Andrea Morricone specifically for Il Volo. This anticipated the new album “IL VOLO SINGS MORRICONE” (Epic/Sony Music) released worldwide on November 5th, a dizzying journey through the art of one of the greatest composers of the 20th century.

In May, Il Volo was a guest at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

After postponements due to the pandemic, its world tour began in spring and IL VOLO performed on 4 continents: in the most prestigious Italian venues (Verona Arena and Ancient Theater of Taormina), most important European cities, Japan, Australia, Canada and USA (among others Radio City Music Hall)

 In November, IL VOLO releases a new Christmas single, a cover of the famous song HAPPY XMAS (WAR IS OVER) by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

 In fact, they are working on the Christmas concert in Jerusalem, which will be broadcast on December 24th on the Italian TV channel Canale 5.
