ABOUT IL VOLO
Their debut album, “Il Volo” (2010), achieved platinum status and earned prominent positions on the Billboard charts, propelling the trio onto the global stage with appearances on shows such as The Tonight Show and American Idol. In 2012, they embarked on a historic 12-show tour with Barbra Streisand, followed by recording duets with Plácido Domingo and Eros Ramazzotti on their second album, “We Are Love”.
In 2015, IL VOLO cemented their international fame by winning the Sanremo Music Festival with “Grande Amore”, later representing Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest. This success was followed by hit albums, sold-out tours, and performances at iconic venues including Radio City Music Hall and the Arena di Verona.
Their tribute to the Three Tenors — José Carreras, Plácido Domingo, and Luciano Pavarotti — with the project “Notte Magica” in Florence’s Piazza Santa Croce, reaffirmed their artistic excellence. The trio has also taken part in humanitarian initiatives, including a concert for peacekeeping forces in Lebanon and a Christmas special broadcast on RAI 1. In 2019, they performed in Panama during the 34th World Youth Day, singing before Pope Francis and an audience of over one million people, in an event broadcast worldwide.
Following a decade of global success, IL VOLO continued to innovate. In 2021, they honored the legacy of Ennio Morricone with a special concert at the Arena di Verona and released the album “Il Volo Sings Morricone”. In 2022, the trio concluded the year with “Il Volo – Christmas in Jerusalem”, a project by Michele Torpedine, blending their unmistakable voices with the unique atmosphere of the Holy Land.
After six special sold-out performances at Teatro Arcimboldi in Milan and a prestigious European tour in 2023, IL VOLO released a Christmas EP titled “4 Xmas”, featuring four songs, including “Happy Xmas”, “Amazing Grace”, “O Tannenbaum”, and “Feliz Navidad”.
In 2024, celebrating 15 years of career, the trio launched one of their most successful world tours, “Tutti Per Uno”, filling arenas in major international capitals. The project included four special concerts at the Arena di Verona, broadcast by Channel 5, featuring collaborations with some of Italy’s leading contemporary artists. This was followed by “Tutti Per Uno – Capolavoro”, a tour of Italy’s most iconic locations, including Piazza San Marco in Venice. In December, IL VOLO appeared as special guests at Andrea Bocelli’s event in Los Angeles, and on Christmas Eve, their Christmas Concert recorded at the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento was broadcast in prime time on Channel 5.
Their latest album, “Ad Astra”, was released on March 29, 2024, by Epic Records/Sony Music Italy. The international edition, released on November 29, 2024, includes five additional tracks, among them “Capolavoro” (English version), presented at Sanremo 2024 and certified Gold. On December 6, 2024, the new single and video “Tra le onde” were released. On December 8, 2024, IL VOLO appeared as special guests at an Andrea Bocelli event in Los Angeles, performing “Il Gladiatore” and “’O sole mio” together with Bocelli — a true gift to audiences.
On December 24, 2024, Christmas Eve, the Christmas Concert recorded at the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento was broadcast on Channel 5. The same show will air on PBS throughout 2025.
In 2025, IL VOLO toured Italy’s arenas with “Tutti Per Uno – Ad Astra Live Nei Palasport” and, in February, appeared as special guests at the 75th Sanremo Music Festival, performing “The Sound of Silence” alongside singer Clara. It was a landmark year for the trio, featuring sold-out arenas, a growing international audience, and multiple successful projects, including “IL VOLO Live in Concert”, with seven sold-out shows in Brazil in October.
