Pre-sale for Clube Shows Gold members begins on November 28, 2018, and runs until November 30, 2018.

Peppino di Capri is synonymous with successful romantic Italian music. For six decades, he has delighted us with charming songs celebrating love, wrapped in beautiful melodies and delicate, captivating arrangements. His songbook contains over 500 songs, many of them timeless hits known around the world. A true master in this genre!

The singer and songwriter, celebrated worldwide for classics like “Roberta” and “Champagne,” among many others, will be in Brazil in 2019 to present his new show *Peppino di Capri Per Amore* on March 21 in São Paulo at Credicard Hall. The São Paulo show will feature a special appearance by Zizi Possi, who will sing with the artist *Per Amore*, a selection of Neapolitan songs, and a big surprise.

Peppino di Capri always draws a large audience when performing in Brazil, where he first sang in 1961 at Teatro Record. His shows are always sold out, with audiences captivated by his intense devotion to good music and romance.

Peppino loves Brazil and often praises the Brazilian people, whom he describes as “musical and warm.” In the 1970s, when performing at Canecão in Rio de Janeiro and seeing Toquinho, Vinicius de Moraes, and Tom Jobim in the audience, he sang nervously, sweating heavily on stage. Later, in the dressing room, Vinicius and Tom reassured the then-30-something artist by telling him they were his fans. What a relief!

The Italian star adores the music of Toquinho—his friend of five decades—with whom he always stays in touch whenever the Brazilian artist performs in Italy. He admires Roberto Carlos and Caetano Veloso and is delighted to hear Zizi Possi’s splendid interpretations of Neapolitan songs.

BIOGRAPHY

Born on the island of Capri, Italy, on July 27, 1939, under the name Giuseppe Faiella, Peppino di Capri first entered the charts in 1958 with the song “Malatia.” He and his band, The Rockers, blended the Neapolitan music of his homeland with rock, twist, mambo, jazz, and other rhythms, giving his songs a youthful and captivating flair.

Strongly influenced by American rocker Buddy Holly in his early years, including Holly’s iconic black-rimmed glasses, Peppino began his rise to stardom with the 1963 hit ballad “Roberta,” written in honor of his first wife. His version of “Let’s Twist Again,” a hit by American singer Chubby Checker, also became a best-seller.

When The Beatles performed in Italy in 1965, Peppino di Capri and The Rockers were chosen to open their shows in Milan, Genoa, and Rome, gracefully taking on the challenge of warming up the audience for the Fab Four. Capri even scored a hit with his Italian version of “Girl” (Lennon-McCartney).

The artist’s fame grew further when he began participating in the iconic Sanremo Festival, Italy’s most important music event, which he won in 1973 with “Un Grande Amore e Niente Più” and again in 1976 with “Non Io Faccio Pio.” He also won the Naples Festival in 1970 and participated in more than 25 festivals.

In 1973, he took the world by storm with the ballad “Champagne,” an instant classic that refused to leave the charts or radio playlists and has been re-recorded by many other artists.

Thanks to his beautiful voice and captivating stage presence, Peppino di Capri solidified his career. In 1988, he released the album *In Concerto*, recorded live the previous year at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in London, a venue reserved for the greatest stars of popular and classical music. In 1996, he toured and recorded a live album with another Italian music legend, Fred Bongusto.

In 2004, the book *Il Sognatore* was published, written by Peppino in collaboration with Geo Nocchetti, in which the singer pleasantly recounts parts of his life, both artistic and personal.

In recent years, the Italian star has been more active than ever. At the end of 2015, Peppino composed the soundtrack and starred in De Laurentiis' Christmas movie *Natale Col Boss* (Christmas with the Boss), in which he played a dual role as a mafia boss and himself.

During the same period, he released the album *Le Canzoni d’Amore*. Anyone who loves songs about love has likely heard many tracks from this CD, which includes delightful hits like “Chiamme Ammore,” “Un Grande Amore e Niente Più,” and “Le Donne Amano.” A true treat for the heart.

For Christmas 2016, Peppino released three new songs: “I Miei Capelli Bianchi,” “Anche Se,” and “Sogno di Una Sera d’Estate,” all included in the album *Una Musica Infinita*.

In May 2017, the star had a successful tour in Brazil and later that year performed in the United States and Canada. A new album is also expected to be released soon.
