GIPSY KINGS

Led by its founder, Tonino Baliardo, Gipsy Kings will perform on a single date in São Paulo.

Original members of the world’s greatest flamenco music group arrive in São Paulo on July 26 and announce a new album, “HISTÓRIA”, set for release in May.

The original members of the legendary group Gipsy Kings, led by its creator Tonino Baliardo, return to Brazil for a one-night-only performance on July 26 at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo. In this show, the group brings their greatest hits to Brazilian audiences in a night marked by flamenco rhythms and timeless classics that have crossed generations.

The setlist will allow the audience to relive songs that have become true anthems of world music, such as “Volare,” “Bamboleo,” and “Djobi Djoba,” as well as interpretations of classics like “Hotel California” and “A Mi Manera.”

Founder and band leader Tonino Baliardo is responsible for composing and producing some of the biggest hits in Gipsy Kings’ history, including “Bamboleo” and “Djobi Djoba.” He is now about to release a new album after more than 13 years since his last record. Tonino comments on “HISTÓRIA”:

“I have always wanted to record an album that reflects the music that influenced my life as a gypsy. My music has no borders, and our music is universal. I chose the title ‘História’ because it represents what happened in the past, and I wanted to create an album with all the different musical influences I have experienced over the years while traveling and performing around the world. The tracks on ‘História’ move between rumba, pop, dance, and jazz, and of course, they maintain the passion, spirit, and love that are characteristic of Gipsy Kings’ music.”

Throughout their career, Gipsy Kings have gained fans all over the world, with more than 20 million albums sold and remarkable performances on major international stages. The group has also earned numerous gold, platinum, and diamond records, as well as winning the 2013 Grammy Award in the World Music category for the album “Savor Flamenco.” The band has also been featured on film soundtracks such as “The Big Lebowski,” with their version of “Hotel California,” and “Toy Story 3,” from Disney Pixar, with “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”

Brazilian audiences will have the opportunity to experience the true Gipsy Kings live on stage, led by their creator Tonino Baliardo, who continues to preserve the musical identity that made the group globally renowned.
